Course Information

Dr Matthew Morris is a Consultant Orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon, and since 2009 he has been based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital where he is the Deputy Medical Director as well as OneHealth Group in Sheffield.

Prior to his appointment at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, he spent a year in Australia on fellowship at the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group and Sydney Prince of Wales Hospital where he developed an interest in sports injuries of the foot and ankle. Matthew also spent a month in Zurich with an ankle replacement designer.

During his time as a consultant with OneHealth he has worked with a wide spectrum of professional sports people, treating players within the fields of Football, Basketball, Rugby League and Tennis along with elite athletics teams. These each have their own unique challenges, but with the common theme. Professionals wanting to return to their work as quickly and as reliably as possible. Matthew plays a part in the team behind the sportsperson supporting their career.

Matthew specialises in arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques to keep the recovery time and post injury recovery period as short as possible. He works very closely with the sportsperson, imaging team and physiotherapists to ensure a seamless pathway to recovery.
